Winemaker's Note: This expressive wine offers fragrant aromas of brioche, peach and ripe melon with sweet vanilla and clove spices. A concentrated palate displays generosity of fruit, richness and texture, with ripe fruit and spice notes leading the way. A seamless marriage of fruit and biscuity oak lead to a long and memorable finish.
Vinification: Hand-picked fruit was carefully whole bunch pressed to retain delicacy and acidity. The juice was briefly settled then transferred to tightly grained French oak barrels, 30% of which were new, for fermentation with wild yeast. Partial Malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring throughout maturation has aided texture and richness. Ageing in our temperature-controlled barrel room for 12 months ensures freshness and retains the power and elegance of this wine. Minimally handled to bottle.
